About

“Why the devil can’t you just have a CV like normal people?”

I had a CV 16 years ago. When I was fresh out of Towson University, MD. Now, I have a portfolio.

“Okay, so you have actually been gainfully employed before?”

Indeed. By Ogilvy, McCann Erickson, a creative start-up called the circle, Dentsu, and most recently at DDB Mudra. All, in Bangalore, India.

“What brands have you worked on?”

Toyota, IBM, Diageo USL, Intel, MetLife, Acer, AMD, Top Ramen – to name a few you might know.

“Just how is it you’ve come to be lurking about the fair town of Morrisville, NC?”

The wife was offered a transfer to the Lenovo office here, back in 2015. I didn’t see any reason for her career to take a back seat to mine.

“I see. What were you doing at DDB Mudra?”

Senior Creative Director – Copy.

“And your last campaign was…?”

Brand refresh for Director’s Special whisky, from the Diageo USL stable.

“Never heard of it. What about the future?”

Had to sell my Harley before I moved here. I need to replace it. That takes money. If you give me some, I’ll write for you.

“Seriously? That’s your objective?”

Yes.

“That’s pretty mercenary. Don’t you ever write for free?”

If you’re wondering whether you can take me for a test drive, the answer is maybe. Let’s talk about it.

“Hmm… What about other interests?”

Books. Music. Movies. Travel.

“Any other vices? Alcohol? Tobacco? Illegal substances?”

Yes. Yes. No.

“Married? Kids?”

Yes. No.

“Legally allowed to work here?”

Yes. L2 (spouse) visa, EAD card, Social Security number and NC Driver License, all valid and in order.

“References?”

Available upon request.

“By the way, how does one pronounce your name?”

You can call me Alek, for now.

“And how does one get in touch with you?”
